Step 2 recommends Reinstalling 1Password but directs me to "Ensure that 1Password is not running in your menubar". If I right click on the gear icon I have four options: Move to Menu, Remove from Toolbar, Bookmark Toolbar, & Customize. When I select "Get the App!" It says “Ensure you install version 4.” The 1password app must be installed for the application to work properly”.
What I get is a dialog box with: “Looking for the 1Password App. When I left click on the gear icon there is no menu or option to Quit 1 Password mini under the menu. If it is, click on the gear icon, then select Quit 1 Password mini under the menu." Step 1 instructs me to "Ensure that 1Password mini is not running in your menubar. I'm trying to follow the instructions for Troubleshooting “1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini.” I confirmed that 1Password 5.App is indeed listed in my Applications folder and password mini is running on my toolbar. I rebooted my iMAC twice and each time got the same error when trying to launch 1Password. I was confronted with the error message: “1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini”. However when I tried to log in this afternoon.
Everything appeared to be working as advertised. Brenty, As I reported Friday 1Password 5 appeared to install properly and I was able to go in and assign a number of logins to various personalized folders.
